2010

Like most of my blogs lately, I sit down to write them and then never finish writing. My mom always makes a family scrapbook for the family and Lacey, Ashley, Dylan, and I all have our own pages so I'll just post what I wrote for my mom and add the things I didn't include that were important. For the most part, it pretty much covers the year...

2010 was an eventful year for me. I started out the year living with my parents and working for Granddad at the Vet Clinic. For some reason I decided that I needed to move out and live on my own so in April Ginger and I moved to Lewisville where I worked at LC Dance Center as a dance instructor and as a Reservation Coordinator for Hilton. I had such a great time teaching dance and spending time with my girls, but unfortunately that didn’t work out for long. I’m still working for Hilton, but I did get a promotion to Customer Service Coordinator in September. I get to make my own schedule and work from home which has its advantages! It is nice to be able to work in my pajamas and be able to play with Ginger during the day. I am still looking for a full time job, who knows I may just move back in with my parents who were very sad when I took Ginger away from them.  I finally designed a photography website (www.jamieburnsphotography.com) and photographed my 1st wedding! My 2 favorite people to photograph this year have been Abigail, my precious niece who was born in June and my "cousin" Scout who was born in October.  I absolutely love them and go see them as often as I can! Lacey got married in January and even though it was planned in a week it was perfect. All that mattered was that my great grandmother was there to see it! She passed away in November, and although it was very hard on all the family I know she is in a better place. I didn’t take as many trips this years as I normally do but in February I went to New York with Dawn, Deidre, and Susanna to see EYB, Pat Green, and Reckless Kelly. That was an amazing trip that almost didn’t happen thanks to a little blizzard! After it finally stopped snowing we had a great time and I got to go to a Broadway Show, Yankee Stadium, Central Park, and Times Square.  I went to Austin in March and in May and spent most of my time there hanging out with Kelly, shopping, eating, listening to music, and walking around downtown. I also spent a weekend at the Beach House in Aransas Pass where I did absolutely nothing and went to College Station to an Aggie game with my parents in October. Most of my weekdays are spent in Lewisville working and my weekends are spent in Burleson with my parents, grandparents, and Dylan! Nothing has really changed much other than where I live, I still spend most of my time with my family and friends listening to live music or watching sports!  I didn't have any plans for NYE so  I decided I would go to Austin with Kelly and did absolutely nothing. When did we grow up and become boring? Even though we didn't do much, it was a great weekend just hanging out in Austin.

I don't usually make new years resolutions, not because I think they are pointless, just because I don't. I always have a long list of things I would like to achieve/accomplish...it doesn't really change just because it is a new year. I am really hopeful that I will find a job soon and figure out my whole living situation. I love living in Lewisville, but I'm not sure I'll stay here unless I have a full time job. My lease is until June, so I have some time. The other thing is I would like loose another 20-30lbs. I lost 40lbs last year. I was originally loosing weight for Lacey's wedding. When that happend in a week that goal was no longer achievable but I just kept doing what I was doing. Really didn't have any goals set and somehow lost the weight. Partially that was because I was dancing. The other part is because I don't eat out much and I quit drinking dr pepper. It's amazing what happens when you don't have money to eat out! :)

I hope everyone has a great 2011 and that I get to see all of you soon! :)

And just for fun, here are some of my fav pics from the year...
