Just a few random updates from the last few weeks...

~I made it through my first week at my new job. So far, I love it. The people I work with are great and it is nice to work with one of my closest friends. This week I'm actually starting on several projects and can't wait to see how everything turns out! The only thing that I am not enjoying is the drive. I got spoiled working from home. It is 16 miles to the office from my apartment. It takes about 40 min in the morning and I don't really mind that. It's the hour home that is killing me. My lease is up the end of June and I will be looking for somewhere else a little closer. There is a property pretty close to my work that is managed by the same apartment management company that manages the apartment I live in now, so there is a chance they will let me break my lease if I decide to move there. It's in Addison and about 5 miles from my office, so we will see what happens.

~My parents came to visit yesterday and took me to lunch. As much as I love living by myself, I kinda miss living at home. And well they missed Ginger! :)

~ I finally got my Aggie t-shirt quilt from my mom. I love it! :)

~Friday night I went out in Dallas with some of my neighbors. We all had a great time. It's been nice to just go out with friends because lately I haven't done much.

~Saturday morning I went to breakfast at my apartment complex office and then Meredith and I spent most of the afternoon at the office watching basketball and chick flicks! :)

~Saturday night I went to Hat Tricks to see Sean McConnell. I'm not the biggest fan of Hat Tricks, but its less than a mile from my apartments so I try and go if there is someone I really want to see. I absolutely hate going to shows by myself, but when nobody will go with me I have no choice if I really want to go. I've seen Sean at Hat Tricks 4 times in the last few months and every time I've gone by myself. I decided I could do it again and planned on going by myself because I really needed to go see some live music. Luckily, Samantha posted that she was thinking about going so we met up and we had a great time. The only think worth complaining about was the crowd. I have never seen it so crowded, but I guess that is good for Sean.

~ Today's Valentine's day. I've always been indifferent about the holiday. I've never had a boyfriend on Valentine's, so to be honest I don't really think about it much. However, as I've gotten older and a lot of my closest friends have gotten engaged/married/or are in a serious relationship, it is something that I think about more. Maybe one day, but for now I'll spend my evening with Ginger! :)
